Here is another CASE! This one comes directly from Silke Ledlow's blog. I stumbled across her blog and fell instantly in love with her work, but her card like this stood out. I hope if she ever comes across this card, she appreciates my interpretation and I hope you like it as much as I do! It seems as soon as I made this card knowing I would have to give it away. See one of my BFF's from high school recently lost her twin brother. I figured this card is fitting for her because she loves the color yellow and it is also a cheery card.

Anyway, this card did not take a lot of time to make. The hardest thing for me to make were the flowers. They were a little challenging since this was the first time I attempted to roll the flower using a quilling tool! I love the end result. I hope you do too!

Hi bloggers! Here is a card I CASEd from Mary Brown. I saw this card on her blog and instantly knew I had to make this card. I copied everything except for three things. First I layered the swiss dots onto plain white cardstock and then I used Rich Razzleberry as one of the alternating colors, and lastly, I used a retired stamp for the sentiment. The Rich Razzleberry flower makes this card pop! The color combo is fabulous and coordinates so well together. Let me know what you think.

I am so proud of these cards, even though the are all CASEs of someone else's cards (Sorry, I am in bed typing this post and I don't have the info of the original creator of the cards). If you are reading this blog and you are the creator of this card, please let me know so I can give you due credit. My mother was the lucky recipient of the first and the second cards. She loved them both. For the last card, I wanted to show you the finished inside as well. More than likely, I will re-make as a birthday card using the same stamp set, Elements of Style. Hi there! Here is another card from the sketch challenges Tai, Rose and I participate in each week that I forgot to post. Each week one of us pick a sketch and then we make a card just to keep our mojo going! This card sketch was from about two weeks ago and I no longer have the details of the sketch but I wanted to share my card with you. I saw these colors (purple, olive & white) in a catalog and decided to put those colors together for this sketch. The score lines were added to give the card a little more character and reduce the plain-ness (is that a word?) of the right edge of the card. I think this card is much prettier IRL. Springtime Smiles

Oh, how I love this card? And to think I did not like this pattern paper or the stamp set. What was I thinking? Lets just say they both grew on me!

My friends Tai and Rose do not stamp together as often as we once did and we all miss it. So in a way, we had a virtual stamp weekend. Tai found this great sketch and we each made a card using the sketch. I love this color combo of Baja Breeze, Always Artichoke, and Very Vanilla. Other items used are Springtime Vintage DSP and Easter Blossoms, which both can be found in SU's Occasions mini. Let me know what you think and thanks for looking.

Here is another sketch challenge card for you. This one turned out more beautiful than I expected. I love these colors together with this Springtime Vintage DSP by Stampin'Up. The card stock used are Baja Breeze and Always Artichoke. I thought the flower from the stamp set Just Believe would be too much with the DSP, but after it was put together the card is quite attractive. I hope you find it attractive too. Hi there readers of my blog. Since this is my first post of the year, let me wish you a "Happy New Year"! I hope your year is off to a good start. My year is progressing along nicely, and I hope it remains that way. I did not make a resolution this year, cause I never keep it. So, I promised myself that I would just have a safe and very fun 2011. What are your promises or resolutions for this year?

In keeping with my promise, I have decided to play along with the My Favorite Things (MFT) weekly sketch challenges because I have collected many of their stamps. So why not participate have some fun, right. Anyway, I played along and created the card below using the Ladybug stamp from MFT. Unfortunately for me, I forgot to enter/post my card for a chance to win the weekly prize. Hopefully I will remember to participate and enter my creation in the next challenge.

Here is a very quick and easy card with very limited stamping required. SU's embossing folders are great for making quick cards when you are pressed for time. I added a few half pearls, also SU, to jazz up the card a bit. I hope my critic like it, cause this one is hers :-)

Here is another card I did a while back. I participated in an Inspirational challenge. Our swap moderator sent us a picture of a beautiful cake that was yellow and white with a hint of blue and pink. At first I was going to make a baby card. Then I had a better idea and this card was the result. Although I am not too fond of the tea cup stamp image, I like the way it turned out. Hope you do too!

Made this card a while back but never got around to sharing. This card was made for a sketch challenge I participated in one of my online groups. When I started working with this sketch, I pulled out some pattern paper and went to work with the colors. The colors of green, gray & pumpkin pie was not one that hit me, but when all the pieces were all layed out, I liked it. This card was finished off with the little paper roses. Aren't they cute?

I just love, love, love this card! This is a case of a case. My friend Rose, cased this card from someone else. When she showed it to me, I knew that this was the card for my mother. When my mother opened her card, she loved it too!

I love the fact that this card has a monochromatic look to it. There is white layered and popped up on white. It is also scored, embossed as well as fauxed stitched. There are lots of elements going on with this card, including the "bling". I used black ribbon to add a little contrast, but simply because I did not have any of SU's Poppy Parade ribbon.

It's a Manly Thing

I am so excited to share with you one of the first masculine cards I've made in a long time that I am just in love with! Found the CS while browsing in my LSS in the Halloween section. Now, I am not a fan of anything Halloween. But this CS screamed manly cards! So I bought some and tadaaaa! Here is my creation.

I added a piece of black ribbon and GinaK label stamp and used the coordinating dies from Nestabilities. I hope you like it as much as I do. Let me know what you think.

Hey there! Here are two quick and easy thank you cards I made for two girlfriends. See, I spent the day with Maria and Rose and I learned how to make a beautiful clock (which I will post later). As usual we had lots of fun hanging out. When it was time to go, I felt like a little kid because I didn't want to go home, but I had a 90 minute drive ahead of me and it was already 10pm.

This is an all SU card which required very little stamping. The flowers are so very easy to make, I could make them in my sleep!

Hey there! It's been a while since my last post. I've been enjoying my summer with my daughter and my husband, and this is our last weekend with Brianna before she leaves for school. I will miss her (again), as she has been a tremendous help around the house :(

I did this card for a weekly challenge swap using a new stamp I got from Susana's custom art and card design (scacd.com) called Fabulous Friends by Animapeeps. This stamp is great for coloring so I decided to use my Copic markers and try my hand at shading. I suck at it!!! but I love how the card turned out.

Anyway, I think this card is self explanatory. SU embossing folder, card stock, and ribbon; sentiment by Verve stamps. Let me know what you think.

Here are two cards using the same layout but different stamps. I am just loving this layout. The first card was made with all Stampin' Up products with exception for the punch.

This card was made with an image called Shopping Shoes from Stampotique (thanks Kim). Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the card. The sentiment says "I wish I would have worn panties". Hope you enjoyed looking!

Drawer Box Gift Set & Birthday Card

Don't you just love it? I saw this drawer box on Splitcoast stampers last week and had to make it. It was fairly fast and easy. The only thing that took some time was the decoration phase. I love the way it turned out and I just love the cards. The yellow card is my favorite. This holds 4 cards with 4 envelopes easily. You could probably get 5 to 6 cards to fit. Anyway, I saw my BFF this weekend and gave this little gift to her along with the card below. Note: it's not the best picture as I took this late at night.

Hi there! I'm back with another card share. This card was made a few months back for a challenge I participated in. The challenge was to create a masculine card. I participated because I needed to step out of my box and do something different. I knew I wanted to use SU's Totally Tool stamp set, but I was at a total loss for a cool design. Anyway, I remember flipping through a magazine while waiting in line at Michael's and found this layout. The pegboard idea came from a card found on Splitcoast Stampers. I added a few brads, painted the the tools with silver metallic ink using a watercolor brush, added a sentiment and a button and Wallah, we have a masculine card! Let me know what you think.

HI Bloggers! I'm back with another card share. This card was made for a challenge swap. This challenge was easy because it was an "anything goes" challenge. We can make a card with any items either SU or non SU. I chose non SU. I had this stamp along with a card I saw with this image and I CASEd the layout! This card was fun to make and I totally loved the outcome. I found the pattern paper in my stash and paired it up with SU's Kiwi Kiss CS (although retired, I just love the color). I used the swiss dots folder for this. The image was colored with Copic markers. Glitter was used for the bubbles, the duck is on a pop dot so that it is sitting on the bubbles. I also made a paper flower to add to the card as a final touch. These are soooo easy and fun to make. I hope you like it!

Long Overdue Post - Digital Images

Hi there! Its been a while since my last post. I really didn't mean for it to be this long since I last shared with you. I haven't been stamping much. Really I haven't been doing much besides working and taking care of family issues/drama! Ain't it funny that when you do not want to get involved in certain situations, you're pulled into it anyway? It just amazes me how much misery loves company.

Anyway, in my blog travels, I discovered digital images. These images are fun to play with. I really like the digital images, because if you're like me, once you pay for the image, it is readily available to download to your computer. And like stamps, you can use these images forever. The one advantage is the fact that you can size these images any way you like (you can't do that with rubber stamps)! Don't get me wrong, I still love my rubber!

This image is from The Greeting Farm. Her name is Dressy Ebony. I used Copic markers to color her.

The next two cards also use the image from The Greeting Farm. Her name is Charlotte. I just love her curly afro as well as her cute outfit. These were also colored with Copic markers.

A Happy Heart

Who says hearts must be red? I love pink hearts just as much as I love red hearts, and I love these colors together. They remind me of neopolitan ice cream. Yum! Speaking of ice cream, I think I will have some later. Anyway, I am trying to use up this DSP before it retires. I have a little time though, so expect to see more creations from me using the Sending Love Specialty DSP. Let me know what you think.

In honor of the new year, I made three cards with the soon to be retired Night and Day DSP. I hate to see this DSP go away because it is so versatile and I always like the look of black and white. I must admit that I these cards were derived from a card my wonderful upline and BFF, Rose, loaned me. I was originally going to CASE her card, but during the assembly process, my card took on a life of its own. Let me know what you think of these.

Here is a two for one for you! TSSCs 95 & 96.

Here is #96. This layout was easy to work with. I changed the layout from portrait to landscape so I could use a larger image. I was not sure about the color combo, but it worked itself out and the card turned out beautifully. I achieved the look of the dove flying, by stamping the image and embossing the image twice. On the second layer, I cut the wing all the way down to the body of the dove and adhered the body except for the wing. I then decided to take a glitter pen and went around the outline of the wings.

I've neglected this blog for a while. Lots have happened since my last post. Almost the last half of the month of September was spent partying. We celebrated many birthdays, including mine. We partied some more, we celebrated my Grandmother's home-going, and we partied some more! I haven't got much stamping done since my last entry, but create a card for MJ's lunchtime sketch challenge. This card was made using Stampin' Up's MDS (My Digital Software). It was easy-peasy! Let me know your thoughts.

TSSC89 - Eggplant and Celery

Here is my take on MJ's Lunchtime sketch challenge. It took like forever to make the scallop circle. I think I did a pretty good job on it, nevermind the fact that I had to go outside in natural sunlight to punch the scallops. I just couldn't get the scallops right using the light in my stamp room. I started out with a 5" circle using the circle scissors plus. Then I used SU's retired small corner rounder to make the scallops. The 3/6" corner rounder made the scallops too small and tight. I like the look of the larger scallops for this size circle. Once I made the "perfect" scallop, I ran it through the Big Shot using the Backgrounds 1 Texturz plates to give it some dimension. The main image is from Upsy Daisy, which was colored using SU Markers in Certainly Celery and Elegant Eggplant. I colored the Thank You portion of the stamp with the E. Eggplant marker and used the Word Window punch then layered on he Modern Label punch. Those two pieces were pop dotted onto larger modern label from the movers and shakers die. Life and MDS

It seems like forever since my last entry. This week has been filled with so much emotion and joy. My husband and I moved our one and only daughter into her on-campus apartment this past Sunday. The move was uneventful and I did not break down like I pictured myself doing. On the other hand, it was my husband that did the crying -- big baby! At least he waited until we returned home and then he stayed in the garage before coming into the house. Bri is all settled and started classes today. When I talked with her today, she sounded homesick. She wanted to know if I was coming to visit tonight. Are you kidding me? 1.5 hours drive to not counting traffic then 1 hour or so on the return. I don't think so, maybe on Saturday.

Anyway, in the stamping arena, I had some time this evening to play with SUs My Digital Studio (MDS). I am in love. I've never scrapbooked until tonight. This program was so easy to use that I made the following page in under 10 minutes. (Note: please don't talk about the pictures. These were taken in a somewhat distorted manner, but it was the first group of pictures I worked with.) I see lots of possibility with this program. Now for the masterpiece. I hope you like it. Sorry for the lack of details. I am trying to go to bed.

Medallion

When I first saw this card, I knew I would be CASEing it. Unfortunately, I don't know who I CASEd it from. Anyway, if this is your card, thanks for sharing this beauty with us. I re-made the card using Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White. The Medallion was stamped and heat embossed in white. My original plan was to make this card for my cousin who got married this past weekend, but I ended up making a different card. I will be making another one of these beauties really soon though. I hope you like it.

Mojo Monday 103

Here is a card my best friend Rose and I did for one of the Mojo Monday sketch challenges past that I never posted. This card uses Real Red, Creamy Caramel, Old Olive and Very Vanilla cardstock along with Merry Moments DSP. The dove was embossed in creamy caramel and put on a pop dot to give some dimension to the card. We also used the new Petals-a-plenty embossing folder. I just love how this card turned out. Too bad it is not easily mass reproducible or else these would have been my Christmas cards this year. I hope you enjoy the card!

TSSC87 - To Have & To Hold

I can't believe how fast and how well this card came together. When I sat down to work on this sketch challenge, I had no idea it would turn into a wedding card because I had plans to make a different wedding card for my cousin. Don't you love it when you can accomplish two things at once? Anyway, I usually decide on what stamp set I would use before making any card. Not this time though -- this time I started backwards. I built this card from bottom to top. First with the new Day & Night DSP and a splash of Real Red for a little contrast. Then I added the two layers of CS using the Eyelet border punch across the card and embossed the top layer (which you can barely see in the picture). Although the sentiment was a tad short, I improvised by making the base a lot longer and embellished it with brads to match the charm I found in my stash drawer. I just love how this card turned out. When I look at this card I think of an Arnold Palmer ice tea. Yum! Isn't this card yummy? Anyway, I've started making "thinking of you" cards and sending them to my friends that I haven't talked with in a while. Have your friends ever crossed your mind and you say you're going to call them, but never get around to calling? Well thats me!

I have seen so many cards made from craft cardstock and they are so nice. This card was born from the craft cardstock idea. I've never really used craft cardstock and decided to give it a try. The card looks monochromatic but in real life, it is very pretty. I hope you think so too!

SSUS Mojo Monday Challenge

Don't you love it! These new SU In-Colors are just striking. For this card, I paired up Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry along with Whisper White. Very cool combo. There are others I am playing with, in my spare time (which is not much). I participated in a challenge that uses this particular sketch from Mojo Monday. At first, I was a little lost, but once I got the colors down, then texturized some of the cardstock, everything just fell into place. Click on the picture to see the textures. This card was made for MaryJo's Technostampers Lunchtime sketch challenge. This week, the sketch was definately a challenge. I agonized over the sketch and finally this is what I came up with. I started by punching out several 1-1/4" squares from Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. Then I pieced them together. After that part was done, this card came together fairly easy. I had to play with the colors a little before I was satisfied. I wanted to add some ribbon, but then thought it would be too distracting (the card is already busy). Instead I opted to paper pierce. The scalloped circle was made from a 3" circle using SU's corner rounder. A Fun Day of Stamping

This past Sunday was a fun day stamping at my upline's house along with my sideline Tai. As usual, we had a blast. Here are three random cards I stamped. The first two uses all SU products. The last card was made with the left over Lemonade paper I had left over from the card I made in the previous post. I didn't want this beautiful paper to just sit unused. Leave me a comment.

Two weeks in a row! Woohoo!! This card is for the TechnoStamper's weekly challenge. I am making a concentrated effort to participate more often than not. This layout was fairly easy and I was able to make this card in no time at all. I used paper from the Lemonade paper pad as well as SU's retired Kiwi Kiss along with SU's current Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I wished that the Kiwi Kiss did not retire because I am loving these color combinations. The sentiment is from SUs Heard from the Heart stamp set. This card was finished off with two Old Olive brads. Celebrate - SU IB&C Case

I made this card for the Stampin' Up! Catalog CASE challenge for SSUS. I chose the "Three Little Words" card on page 139 because, I had all the supplies to make the card, with exception for the stamp set. Fast forward to actually making the card. I took out the Old Olive DSP to find that exact pattern paper that was used in the catalog. No pattern. I look at the Catalog to make sure I am not using the retired designs. I have the current stuff. What gives??? I decide to find the supply list online. Lo and behold, the DSP is from Cottage Wall. So I place an order for the DSP, with hopes of it being delivered soon. Well three days later, my order still showed "submitted". There was no way I was going to get this card in the mail to my partner by the due date, so I improvised a little. I used the Old Olive DSP. I think it turned out cuter than the sample in the catalog. I hope she likes it and you do too!

Made this card in exactly one hour on Saturday morning. My neighbor was having a birthday party that night and I knew I would not have time to make a card later that day, so I quickly threw this one together. It was easy, as I already had the layout in mind, and since I still had some of this retired DSP laying around as well as the stamp set, I decided to go for it. She really liked the card and would like to learn how to make cards like these. Woo hoo!!

Made these cards last week while watching the season premier of Hell's Kitchen. These cards were so easy I made them within the two hour timeslot. I think these will be my new layouts for very quick and easy cards. You could use just about any sentiment with these layouts. After I made the middle card, I realized I should have embossed the "Best Wishes" to make it pop, but after further review, I like the card the way it is, very soft (click on the picture to enlarge).

Here is the card I did for the Anything Goes challenge. I love the way this card turned out. It has texture and lots of little elements on it. Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend. Mine was very peaceful. I had a playdate at my upline's house on Sunday, and we had a blast. Can't tell you the last time we got together to stamp, but it was so much fun, I did not want to go home. Lately, I haven't been in the mood to stamp because my creativity was lost and there were no ideas flowing. I thought about CASEing a cards just to get me in the stamping mood, but that didn't seem appealing, but when I sat down to stamp, I quickly got in my "zone". Here are a couple cards I made. Prom Party Invite and Picture

Here is a quick share. It is personal but includes stamping. My daughter went to her prom last weekend and had a wonderful time. My mother and I gave her a Champagne “Toast” party, hence the invitation. I wanted to create an invitation that was open faced and had stunning character. Colors used are Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, and Very Vanilla. The information was printed on the VV cardstock and then the glasses were stamped in chocolate chip craft ink and then embossed with clear EP. The bottom half of the invitation was run through the CuttleBug and then finished off with a bow using SUs 15/16” Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon.

My Poor Neglected Blog and a Card

OMG!!! Where has the time gone? I can't believe it is already May. It's been a while since my last post. There is so much going on right now that I feel like I am on a roller coaster! My husband, Chris, returned home last week from his one week medical retreat (we joke about this because every year, he is hospitalized for something or the other). Our daughter, Bri, is getting ready to attend her Senior Prom later this month and I am planning a "champagne toast" (pre-prom party). Since I finally have her all squared away with her dress, shoes, and accessories, I can breathe a sigh of relief. I just need to finish up the invites that she begged me to make (I will post as soon as I finish them - I promise). Then two weeks later is her graduation. Being a parent of a senior is a lot of work! In September, she will attending California State University of San Bernardino, which is less than 90 minutes away. I am so excited for her, but at the same time I will miss her much.

I kinda lost my stamping mojo earlier this year, and I can feel it returning. I've been blog surfing and have some good inspirations. I probably won't get to do any serious stamping until after Bri's graduation.

This past Saturday, my neice turned two. Her birthday party was held on Sunday and we had a good time. Here is the card I copied from Splitcoaststamplers.com. It uses elements from a few cards with this stamp set. I used some retired SU DSP for this one.

I want to share with you my latest creation. This card was made for the Late Night Stampers (LNS) group color challenge (#14). The colors are Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, and Chocolate Chip. I love how quickly this card came together.

The Chocolate Chip images are all embossed using Crystal Clear EP. The smaller flower in the center of the large flower is adhered with a pop dot. the ends are curled to give the flower more dimension. The bottom of the Sahara Sand CS was punched using the Eyelet Border punch and then stamped with a sentiment from Heard from the Heart. Then the card was finished off with a piece of chocolae chip 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. TFL.

I participated in a Contraband challenge with one of my groups. The objective was to use a stamp that we have not seen before (anything non Stampin’Up) and mail it to my assigned partner. After going through my stash of non-SU stamps, I decided to find something different. I was Blog surfing and there I learned about Digital Images and how to use them. I found this “Chick Egg” digital stamp over at Little Paper Shops and quickly purchased it.

The great thing about the digital images is that once you pay a very small fee, the stamp is available for you to download and save to your computer. You can begin to use it right away. What I really like about the digital stamp is that you can size it to your liking. I did learn that if you are going to watercolor your image, you must be careful not to smear the printer ink. I did that several times before I got it right!

Anyway, as you can see, everything on this card is SU with exception of the digital stamp. I added Dazzling Diamond to the egg to give it a “dazzling” effect. TFL

Happy Birthday MJ (Late but not forgotten). This card was made last Sunday as part of MJ's lunchtime challenge. A little birdie told me that Monday was her birthday, so in honor of the challenge and her birthday, this card was born. I did not get a chance to post on Sunday night, since I have started a bedtime schedule. I thought I would post on Monday evening, then Tuesday evening, then Wednesday evening ... alas, I am posting today, Thursday. Why didn't I post, you ask? Well, for a couple of reasons. 1) Monday evening, I grocery shopped and cooked dinner; and 2) Tuesday & Wednesday evening, I had to help my mother with some personal stuff, which took forever. This evening is all mine! Woohoo!!

A Thank You Card and Blog Candy

Don't you just love surprises? I certainly do. About a week ago Monday, I came into my office to find a bag on my desk. I was puzzled as I did not leave anything there on Friday before I left work, and the only person with access to my office has been working from another office. Anyway, when I cautiously and suspiciously looked in the bag, there was what seemed to be an overabundance of Presidential souvenirs. I was totally blown away, because I wished I could have been at the inauguration. The television had to suffice. Anyway, the bag of goodies was from my boss' wife, Denise. She is a really sweet and very thoughtful woman!

Although it took me a week to make a thank you card, I was sill in the official "two week" time frame to send a TY card. I am quite proud of this card and I hope Denise and my Blog visitors like it too. All items Stampin'Up! with exception of the Dew Drops

This penguin image was part of our Mystery Imge Swaps I regularly participate in. It is so much fun to receive an unknown image and then design a card around it. This time the hostess, Sue, not only provided the image, but also a strip of designer paper that we had to incorporate into the card. This is what I came up with. I started out by printing the sentiment "so cool!" onto the W White CS. Then I ran half of the card through the CB (sorry, can't think of the name of the folder right now). The rest came together okay. I was pleased with the outcome. Hope you like it.

Where has the time gone? My stamp time seems to be very limited these days. Every weekend, I try to set aside soem time to stamp, then someone or something interrupts and there goes my stamp time. I guess I need to let the phone and doorbell go unanswered! Now that sounds like a really good idea!!

This was a really quick card to make. I embossed the Pink Pirouette CS using the Swirls CB folder. Added a piece of Candy Cane DSP and tied a bow using SUs 15/16" Choc. Chip satin ribbon. The heart image was embossed and colored in using Pink Pirouette blender pen. Finally the card was adhered to a chocolate chip base.

I bought these two stamps for less than a $1 each. Can you believe it? The chick and the flowers are from the For Peep's Sake Collection by Imaginisce. I had no idea what I would make with them, but once I stamped the chick, I knew I had to design something. Alas, we have a stop and smell the roses card. Do you like it? Let me know what you think.

Happy New Year! I can not believe it has been well over a month since my last Blog entry. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and I hope that you are abundantly blessed in 2009. This holiday season was not as exciting as my previous holidays. Don't know why, but I was uninspired. Just plain ole uninspired. That's it. No other excuse! Then at the last minute, I found some inspiration. Thank goodness gifts were purchased right after Thanksgiving.

Christmas day was wonderful. It started out with me making breakfast for the family and baking cakes for my brothers and my mom. Chris got an IPhone and Bri received several big ticket items, one of which was diamond ring (in lieu of a class ring). The day was spent at my mom's house with my brothers, their significant others, and my niece and nephews. The children were a joy to watch, but did I have a serious headache by the time the night was over. Jaden, Amaya, and Nolan are in the 18-22 month range, and DJ is 5 months old. I didn't realize what busy bodies they are. Here are a couple pics of the babies. The first pic is of Nolan (18 mos.), Amaya (19 mos.), Jaden(22 mos.), and my daughter Brianna (17 yrs). She is having a hard time keeping them together for this picture. Amaya and her baby brother DJ (5 mos) are in the second picture. They are so adorable!

I have been home from work since December 23rd and I am seriously dreading the return tomorrow. I told myself that while I was home, I would do x, y, and z. None of which was done. Not even stamping -- shame on me! I would come into my Webb and pull out some cardstock and DSP, and just sit there looking at it. Don't know what is wrong, but I can't seem to find inspiration anywhere. Today, I was on a quest to find some inspiration, but instead, I uploaded music and synched to my IPod and phone. So much for finding inspiration. Hope to find it soon!

I just love this little image from Stampotique. Isn't she cute? Kim, was our Mystery Image hostess who sent out this image. When I first saw the image, I thought what am I going to do with this! I had no problems once I decided on the layout. I used diamond Stickles and Fun Flock on her tutu to give some dimension. I also broke out the primas that I have been hoarding. I just hope my partner Ida, like this card. As you can see, there are other elements that went into making this card. The sentiment was printed from my computer.

By the time I finally sat down to create a card for this week's challenge, I was too tired to think. I pulled out the I Wish Simply Scrapbooking Kit and made this card. It is not my best work but I wanted to participate in this week's challenge. Make sure you check out the other players and their creations over at Techno Stamper.
I must admit though, these kits come in real handy for non-stamping cards. After looking at this card several times, deciding if it was worth posting, I decided to post. But, if I remade this card, I would back it onto a Chocolate Chip card base. Let me know what you think?

Look What I Did!!!

Have you ever had one of those days where you did something and it left you feeling proud? Well that was me! I feel so innovative and I am quite sure that I am not the first to think of this, but I feel like I am. On one of my many "clean-up my stamp area" moments, I realized that the Spellbinders Nestabilities did not have a home and needed one. While pondering what to do with them, one of them fell and landed on a card with a magnet in it. I noticed the magnetic force when I tried to remove the die to return it to its little holding bin. Then lo and behold, a lightbulb went on! Ding! That is when I realized that I could attach a magnetic sheet to my inner cabinet door and free up the little bin for another item. The hunt was on. I went to my local Office Depot and Staples to see if they carried such an item. The salespeople looked at me strange, as if I was asking for a strange object unheard of to the human race. Anyway, fast forward to today (Saturday). My package arrived and I quickly went to work on making a new home for the Nestabilities. The magnetic sheet was purchased from dickblick.com and adhered to the cabinet with velcro. Yes, its a little crooked but it is okay, because it won't be seen often. I had to cut the sheet because I ordered two feet, which was a little too much. Anyway, I succeeded in cutting the sheet without incident.

MJ's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #44

I can't believe it! I completed this card in 38 minutes from start to finish. This one was pretty easy, because all week, I thought about this layout. I love the layout and how this card turned out. The sketch was fairly easy to work with. I didn't have a specific image in mind when I started but after looking at the few stamp sets I own, Morning Soft spoke to me. It was the perfect stamp for this layout. First I stamped the image using Staz-On Jet Black ink, twice on whisper white cardstock, then colored both

flowers using pink pirouette re-inkers and the aqua painter pen. After that I cut out one of the flowers with the leaf and inserted a rhinestone brad in the centerand then attached it to the other image using a stampin dimensionals. This card was finished off with flowers from the flower fusion and the Boho Blossoms punch along with Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I hope you like this card as much as I do.

November 14th is one of the best day's of my life. Why you ask? It is the day I welcomed my beautiful daughter into this world. Today she is 17 years old. She is not a baby anymore but she will always be my baby! I made this card specially for Bri using this image from Inky Antics. I am so proud of this card because I used my prisma color pencils and gamasol for the first time! Wow! is all I can say. I know that many of you have moved on to the Copics, but I am enjoying the fact that I can color and not have the brush strokes show up. What a great concept!!! Anyway, the image is stamped using Staz-On Timber Brown. although you can't see it well in the picture, the center of the flower has dazzling diamonds and the balloon has crystal effects on it for some texture. I also used the nestabilities embossing template for this card. I am on a roll. Needless to say, Bri loved her card because it had a little turtle on it.

The card opens just above the sentiment. This card design was a CASE of another card I saw at my upline's house. As I was looking through all the gorgeous swap cards Rose received, this layout just jumped out at me. Alas, this card was born! I hope you like it as much as I do.

MJ's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenges 42 & 43

I have two cards to share with you. This week's sketch challenge 43 and last week's. Although I had SK42 made, I didn't get a chance to take a picture and upload. I simply ran out of time.
Here is my SK43 submission. Frosted Tulips -- you like? I really like how this card turned out. I flipped the sketch so that the card is vertical versus horizontal. This sketch is so fun and easy to work with. I will be using this sketch for future cards. Here are the details that went into making this card. Stamp: Embrace Life CS: Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Haiku DSP Ink: Staz-on Jet Black Accessories: 2-Way glue pen, Dazzling Diamond, 1/4" Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, miscellaneous brads, double rectangle punch

Although this card did not turn out the way I envisioned it, it has some potential. I used the Score Pal to create double score lines above the strip of DSP and a single score line below the strip. Cardstock used are B. Burgundy, So Saffron. It also uses CB Swiss Dots embossing folder. At the time I created this card, I didn't realize how pale the 1/4" Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon looked. Note to self -- do not use use this color ribbon when re-making this card.

Here is my creation for MaryJo's sketch challenge #41. Although the sketch seemed relatively easy, but it was harder than I thought. You won't believe it but, I created two other cards and I wasn't "feelin" them. Thank goodness I didn't tape anything down because this card was made with the pieces from the other cards. Although you can't see it well in the picture, the icing on the cupcake is covered with Dazzling Diamonds, and the cherry is topped off with Crystal Effects. I think it turned out okay. Hope you think so too!

I am surprised at myself because I have participated in MaryJo's sketch challenge for two consecutive weeks. I had my 20-month old nephew yesterday for what seemed like an eternity. I gave him some large unbreakable crayons and a floor pad to color on. As I complemented him on his "scribble", three colors stood out. They were orange, brown, and green. This is where my color inspiration came from for this sketch challenge. This sketch was easy, but I ventured away from the exact sketch just a wee bit. I added Dazzling Diamonds to the center of the flowers to give it some texture; it looks white in the picture. I really like the outcome of this card. Singing Charlotte

I wish this image truly represented me. I love to sing, but I can't hold a note! My husband always tells me to keep my day job because I would starve as a singer!!

This Singing Charlotte image was sent from our Mystery Image hostess, Stefanie. I was totally at a loss as to what I would create but after taking a closer look at the image, the only thing that came to mind was Christmas. With that in mind, Christmas Singing Charlotte was born. This card for MaryJo's Technostampers challenge. This card should have been posted last night, but I was really tired and told myself that I would do it first thing in the morning. Well fast forward to the afternoon. I am finally getting a chance to post.

Although this card seems a little plain (lacking embellies) I still like the way it turned out. I used the Inspired by Nature stamp set. I love the set, but find it very hard to use especially if you only want to use a portion of the flower. I had such a hard time lining up the image to paper just to get that one flower -- special huh?

The color combo in these cards are Night of Navy, Kiwi Kiss and Very Vanilla.

This card was also made using the same layout. I think it is a little too plain.
This card is screaming for help! I really like the layout and the paper/color combination used. What can I do to help this card?

Thats right! You're on my mind!! I had another week of hell. I've neglected my Blog and when I finally logged into my e-mail, I had over 120 unread e-mails. Now to weed through them all.

This card was made using my favorite stamp set Upsy Daisy. I like this color combination of Bravo Burgundy and So Saffron. I am not too sure of the Kiwi Kiss cardstock around the border of the image. The image and the sentiment were colored using markers. Let me know what do you think of this card?

I am off to bed as tomorrow will be a full day. Our company is having its company picnic and I will be working the first 2-3 hours before I can relax. TTYL!

I'm Baack!

Wow! this has been a week from hell!! I have been meaning to update with new posts as promised, and I even uploaded some pics to schedule. Didn't get around to it and I have had some e-mails asking about my pledge to update the blog on a regular basis this month. Besides the hectic days at work, my husband was sick. Last weekend he was not feeling well at all. I asked him if he wanted to go to the ER and he said he would be okay. This wasn't anything out of the ordinary for him so I didn't make a big deal out of it. Did I mention that he is a diabetic and has renal failure? Well by Monday morning he was so weak, I took him to the ER. He was severely dehydrated and his blood pressure was really low. He also had an infection.

Fast forward, five days later and here we are at Saturday. The hubs was released today and is feeling very good. He is still on antibiotics and is gaining his strength back. I can't believe how much I missed him this past week. Tonight we had dinner at the LA Food Show and our daughter Bri took this picture of us.

Pocket Silhouettes Notepad

This past weekend, my upline and sideline had our Open House. This is one of the door prizes I made. I found these cute little mini legal pads at the 99 cents store. They measure 3 1/2 x 5 1/4 and come 3 per pack. I thought they were so cute, and had to make a cover for them. This is the one I keep in my purse. There have been many times I am out and an idea strike me and need to write it down, but have no scrap paper in my purse, or I meet up with an old acquaintance, and need to exchange phone numbers but have nothing to write on (hello!! business cards). Has that ever happened to you? Well, problem solved. This tablet is a great item for my purse, and I am sure it is for the recipient too. TFL.

Upsy Daisy Birthday

I participated in a Silhouettes challenge from one of the groups I belong. This card is a case from Cindy Lawrence. While blog surfing, this card just jumped out at me and I just had to make one of my own. Since I signed up for the Silhouettes challenge, I thought why not make two. One for me and one for my assigned partner. I was so pleased with it's outcome, I gave the other card to my upline. I was too lazy to make another one.

I substituted the buttons with brads from the Earth Elements family. The DSP is from the Haiku series. The image and sentiment was colored in using Elegant Eggplant, Taken with Teal, and Old Olive Markers. Cardstock used are Very Vanilla, Taken with Teal, Elegant Eggplant, and Old Olive. The background on the Eggplant cardstock was stamped using one of the image from Sprinkles stampset.

I love the way this CASE turned out. I hope the recipient likes it as much as I do! TFL.

I am just loving this stamp set. It is so versatile. This stamp set can apply to either gender, it just depends on the colors you use. I saw a flap card at my BFFs house and liked the layout. So I borrowed it and made the Thank You card. Colors used are Chololate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, and Very Vanilla.

In keeping with my pledge, here is a card I made this past weekend for a friend's birthday. It is made using SU's Top Note die. I thought it would be a great idea to make this card a flap card and open with the die cut. I've attached a picture of the card standing up so you can see how this card opens.

I used the Upsy Daisy stamp set with Kiwi Kiss ink and then filled in the flowers with a gold glitter pen, which you can't see in the picture. The edges of the Whisper White cardstock is sponged with Kiwi Kiss. The card is really pretty in person. Cardstock used are Taken with Teal, Kiwi Kiss, and Whisper White. Thanks for looking.

A Blogging Pledge and New Cards

I, Charlotte, promise to be a better blogger and post on a weekly basis. Well at least for the month of September! Where have I been? Nowhere! Absolutely nowhere!! Just busy livin' 'la vida loca'. However, I do have a few items to show you. They are made from SU's new Haiku DSP. This DSP is just beautiful! What do you think?

I don't remember who's blog I CASED this card from. It was one of those days, where I was blog surfing during work and I was interrupted and instead of minimizing I actually closed Internet Explorer (IE). The image of this card remained in my brain until I came home and immediately the card. I am quite pleased with this card.

Made this card out of the scraps of paper left over from the previous card. Love the way it came out. I had no idea what to do with the scraps, but then I just started cutting the pieces and layering them. The center image has Estern Blooms directly stamped on the DSP in Close to Cocoa. I then stamped the image on Very Vanilla in Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, and So Saffron and punched out the flowers using the 1/4" circle and applied them to the branch on the center image. The center image is also popped up on a pop dot to give it some dimension. to complete this card, I added a felt flower and used a build a brad in the center.

This notebook was made from the left over scraps. I tell you this DSP is too beautiful to waste. The pages on the inside are index cards. I used the BIA to bind.

Cards Made at my Playdate

This past Sunday, I had a playdate with my upline and sideline. I thought all three of us would be stamping some great images, but I was the only one stamping. They were busy making their list of things to order from the new SU IB&C.

I was looking through the August issue of Cards magazine and came across a few layouts I liked. I decided to case the layouts of three cards but only two of them were okay for your viewing pleasure. I will re-do the other card later on. This card is made with the Eastern Blooms stamp set. Cardstocks used were Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink. Inks are Regal Rose and Choc. Chip Craft. The image in Choc. Chip and the sentiment were embossed with clear EP. I finished the card with Pretty in Pink and Chocolate 1/4" grosgrain ribbon and Diamond Stickles to the center of the Pink flowers.

This card did not turn out the way I imagined, but it is acceptable. I really like the layout. It is clean and simple. I will use this layout again sometime because it will force me to use the Hodgebodge Hardware I already own. For this card, I used Kraft, Tangerine Tango, and Very Vanilla cardstock with Pumpkin Pie 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. The image is from Embrace Life. I used the stamp off technique for this card.

Convention Swap Cards

I must be getting older! I seem to be forgetting everything. I thought I posted these cards after I returned from Convention. Anyway, these are the cards I made to swap with the girls from my online group at Convention. I am pretty pleased with these cards. The Happiness Always card is pretty simple, but the second one is my favorite! Lots of love and hard work went into this card.

Both cards were made with the new In Colors and the new Bella Rose DSP. I am really feelin' this DSP. Come the 11th, I plan to order several packs of Bella Rose DSP, along with some other things! Stay on track ... Both cards use the level 2 and level 3 hostess set, which can be found in the new IB&C. The second card was watercolored using a combination of the In Color re-inkers and the Watercolor Crayons.

Convention Highlights

Hello Blogging friends. I am home from Convention and am super tired. Convention was a blast. I got to spend time with lots of friends new and old. There are lots of exciting information and just a few pictures that I will share later. My camera battery went dead on me -- I forgot to charge the battery before I left home. So I am counting on my friends to share their pictures with me. So, are you ready for some information?

1. Shelli will be launching her new blog (go live date to be determined)

3. SU has partnered with Sizzix and will be selling the Big Shot die cutting machine, exclusive SU dies, and accessories.

Besides the free stamping products that some demonstrators won, the most excitement came when UPS personally delivered the Ronald McDonald set, Say it with Scallops set to over 6,000+ demonstrators. That was super exciting!

Here is a question for you, my fellow bloggers. What do you do with all the single cards you make and post to your Blogs and the cards/cardfronts you receive from other swappers? I have been asking myself this question for some time now, and still no real answer. I feel I can only mail out so many cards before I go broke from purchasing postage stamps. I donate cards every chance I get and I am still overwhelmed with cards. Please share your solutions with me. I am a desperate woman. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge

This past Saturday, my BFF Rose and I ran into Joy, Jamie, and Taylor this Saturday at the Rubberstamp Convention in Carson, CA. For those of you who do not know them, they are the gals who put together the annual SplitCoast Stampers gathering here in the So. California area (you can find them on Splitcoaststampers.com). They do a wonderful job in organizing this event. Anyway, while chatting with them, Taylor's weekly cupcake challenge came up. These challenges are issued on Friday's and are due the following Monday morning at 8am PDT. Since it was only Saturday, I figured I had time to do it. Well Sunday night at 8:50pm I realize I better get a start on this challenge if I want to be included int he drawing. Unfortunately, I did not get the card posted in time, but I did participate, and I love the outcome. Here is the layout and my card.

What do you think? Interesting color combo and after putting them together, the colors complement each other quite nicely. There was a color challenge on one of my online groups which I did not sign up for, and now I wished I did. The colors are: Perfect Plum, Old Olive, Rose Red, More Mustard, and White. The image was left over from a previous Mystery Challenge. Thanks for looking.

Happy Mail Day

I would have had a card to show you, but I mailed it off to my swap partner and neglected to take a picture of it. Don't you hate it when that happens? Dumb me, didn't make 2 cards. I was always taught that it was just as easy to make two of the same cards instead of one!!!

On another note, yesterday, was a very happy mail day for me! First off, I received my Stampin' Up order that I placed on July 1st. Seems like it only took ... FOREVER! Since the stamps are diecut, they took no time to assemble at all. Now I just need to get started on my swap cards for Convention. It's only two and a half weeks away you know!

Last, I received the Blog candy that I won from stampinlibrarygirl's blog. The prize consisted of a hand stamped card and several stamped images from Scrapmagasinet new Rackle collection. Thanks Nicole. I will definately be playing with these images when I get some time.

I felt like a BIG kid in a candy store :)
